Do you use stereotypes in your everyday life?
In public, how often are we confronted by advertisement without being asked? Whether by posters, television or flyers, publicity is playing with the ideas of stereotypes to reach commercial aims or to draw the costumer´s attention on their products with funny and striking presentations.
We should ask ourselves, which stereotypes we use in our daily life and which consequences it might have, when we put them in ads and therefore reproduce them.
These are our points of debate
1) What exactly are stereotypes? How are they included in ads?
Do they have a special function by using them in commercials?
2) What are "typical" gay people in everday-life- advertisement and do you have these ideas of a gay man/woman too?
3) Do these stereotypes affect you?
4) Are there still these typical stereotypes?
